Recently, I had the chance to sit down with William Hattery, better known as Will, to talk about his plans for the year, high school, and football. We started off talking about middle school. Will attended Coolidge Middle School before coming to the high school. While there, he achieved the Principal Award and was on the student council for all three years. He ran for president because he "loves student council and loves leading the group". Will believes he was elected because he had the support of the football team and because he was very calm and comfortable talking in front of us at the election speeches. As president, he wants to make it "a good freshman year".
Will fears disappointing people with what he does as president, but believes that this shouldn't be a problem. His best quality would be public speaking and he's most excited to work with the whole class office because mostly they are all from Parker Middle School so he hasn't had the chance to really work with them and hear their ideas. Being the oldest in his family, and having three younger siblings, Will says that patience is best trait that they have helped him with. Will enjoys the "simplicity" of high school thus far because you are told what needs to be done and you do it. When asked if the football team is going all the way is year, he simply said "varsity should do well this year."
